With great enthusiasm, APAEA is partnering with the Forest Service in its sponsorship of the upcoming Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) Leadership Training Program in Long Beach, California in early May.
We would like to encourage you and others you know to consider attending this program as part of your career development. This program is approved by the Office of Personnel Management as an employee development opportunity. There is also a student program and associated career fair, so please also let students and APA communities know about this opportunity! (More information is available at www.fapac.org.)
The FS is a silver level sponsor of the event, and we are also looking for help with portions of the program, including:
- Presenting workshops, including one on non-traditional careers for Asian Pacific Americans (e.g., natural resource related careers), and other sessions such as women in leadership roles in the FS. We are open to additional workshops if you have other ideas and presenters.
- Staffing a booth at the career fair for government employees and the public.
Additionally, FAPAC is seeking volunteers to help with event logistics.
If you are interested in attending this training program and/or helping out, please contact:
- Liz Berger to help with the event,
- Chinling Chen for registration coordination and potential employee networking opportunities
We are very excited that the Forest Service is actively engaging in a major APA-focused event such as this, and we hope you can help us make it a success!
